S.O.U.L Children Rescue Center 2024
Busia, Kenya
In 2022, Hand Up Africa began constructing a children's rescue and training center, which was completed at the end of 2024. This ministry focuses on rescuing street children and reintegrating them into the care of a relative who can provide a stable home.
Additionally, the ministry offers parenting classes and conducts regular home visits to ensure the children are well-fed, clothed, and enrolled in school. The center also serves as a temporary shelter for children while a suitable family home is located. Attached to the facility is a guest house, providing accommodations for mission teams serving in Kenya.
Transcend running Academy 2023
Kenya
Transcend Academy is a specialized school dedicated to training gifted children with exceptional running abilities, helping them become world-class marathon runners. In 2023, Hand Up Africa oversaw the construction of a new school building to provide education for students enrolled in the running program. Additionally, the academy has completed on-campus housing for its students.

GIRLS DORMITORY 2014
Challenge Farm, Kenya
The Challenge Farm in Kitale, Kenya, has been operating since the early 1990s. This ministry was established to rescue children living on the streets and provide them with hope for a brighter future. It focuses on equipping children with both spiritual guidance and essential life skills. A church and school became the central pillars of the ministry.
To support this mission, the ministry acquired 10 acres of land to house street children and develop a working farm where they learn agricultural skills. Additionally, girls received training in sewing. Over time, the ministry expanded its efforts, and in 2014, Hand Up Africa partnered with Challenge Farm to construct a two-story dorm to house the growing number of girls that had rescued off the street of Kitale.
Skilled Trade Building 2016
Challenge Farm, Kenya
As Challenge Farm continued to rescue more boys from the streets, the need for skilled trade training became increasingly evident. In 2015, Hand Up Africa partnered with the Farm once again to construct a 5,000-square-foot trade building. This facility offers training in welding, woodworking, and other vocational skills, equipping the children with the tools they need to become self-sufficient and support their families as they transition into adulthood.

Mary Gladys Children Home 2021
Busia, Kenya 2021
Mary Gladys provides shelter and food for many street children in Busia. Hand Up Africa helped enhance her compound by constructing a dining hall and activity center.
Additionally, we installed a water tower and pump, ensuring running water throughout the campus. Showers were also added to the bathhouses, giving many children the opportunity to take a proper shower for the first time—previously, they had to bathe using buckets.

Nairobi, Kenya - Block Ministry 2012
Hand Up Africa provided funds to our partner organization in Nairobi to acquire a block-making machine. This diesel-powered machine enables them to produce blocks using local soil, significantly reducing building costs. As a result, they have expanded their facilities, adding storage and other essential structures to enhance their organization.
The block-making ministry has contributed to numerous construction projects over the years. We have also trained many individuals in producing strong, easy-to-install blocks, equipping them with valuable skills for sustainable development
Leadership Equipping Ministry
The core of Hand Up Africa's ministry is centered on sharing the gospel with everyone we meet. Our mission is to equip and train leaders for gospel ministry both locally and globally. Additionally, we seek to inspire and empower local churches in the U.S. to cultivate a mission-focused mindset by assisting them in developing mission programs and training leaders to lead impactful trips—all with the purpose of advancing God's kingdom. Our staff brings a combined 50 years of mission experience to support this work.
